Practical preparedness for normal UK households
Emergency preparedness has an image problem. Most of what is written about it is aimed at people planning for the end of the world, when the realistic disruption for the rest of us is a couple of days without power, water or internet.
My Emergency Kit takes the ordinary version seriously. You answer four questions, and we turn them into a specific list: what you need, how much of it for your household, why it is on the list at all, and roughly what it costs.
Most people discover they already own half of it. That is the point: the quickest route to being prepared is usually finding the three or four genuine gaps, not buying a box of equipment you will never open. The service is designed to be useful even if you never buy anything through it.

- They are our own guide prices for a type of item, to help you budget. They are not retailer prices, we do not track or scrape retailer pricing, and there is no price alerting here. Always check the price on the retailer's own site before buying.
- Is my kit stored anywhere?
- No. There is no account and no database. Your answers and the items you tick off are saved in your own browser, and the link to your kit is shareable if you want it to be.
