How we make money

Some links on My Emergency Kit are affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you.

What that means in practice

When you follow a link to a retailer and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is the same either way. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

How it affects recommendations

It does not decide what goes on your list. The list comes from your answers (household, kit type, how long you want to be covered and your budget) and every item is there because of what it does, not what it pays.

Several items on a typical list cost nothing at all: a written contact sheet, a household plan, copies of documents. We show those the same way we show anything else, and the service is meant to be useful even if you never buy a thing through it.

About the prices

Guide prices are our own rough estimates for this type of item, to help you budget. They are not retailer prices, are not checked live, and what you pay may differ. Always check the price on the retailer's own site.

Independence

My Emergency Kit is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the UK Government or emergency services. You can read more about the project on the about page.
